What Would Mary Ann Do?

Author: Dawn Wells

I am currently reading this book and I love it! I am a HUGE fan of Gilligan’s Island, mostly because of Mary Ann. This book written by Dawn Wells is humorous and thought-provoking. If you have teenage daughters, this would be a perfect gift for them.

As soon as I spotted the book the first time, I knew I had to have it. It sat in my wish-list for about five years because I hate spending money on myself. For some reason, none of my family believed how much I really wanted it.
After many Christmases, birthdays, and anniversaries had passed, I finally broke down and bought it for myself. It was as great a read as I knew it was going to be! This is definitely one of the books I recommend.

Woman After God’s Own Heart

Author: Elizabeth George

I found this book right after returning from deployment in Iraq back in 2008. At the time, I was single and had no children so many parts of the book did not apply to my life. However, I still read and enjoyed the concepts very much.

Six years later, when I did get married, I was so glad that I had read this book beforehand. I felt like it had given me a headstart in building my home the way God had intended. The same held true once my son arrived two years ago.

I loved this book so much that I immediately purchased it for my mom, my sister, and my sister-in-law! Whether or not any of them read it is a mystery, but at least I gave them a copy. 🙂 I also gave it to my youngest stepdaughter on her 21st birthday.

This is a book that I highly recommend for all women. Elizabeth George does not sugarcoat our mission in life. She preaches the truth with love and understanding. I have really enjoyed every book of hers I have read, but this one is my favorite.
